Job Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurse specializing in Oncology to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to providing exceptional patient care, particularly for individuals undergoing cancer treatment. This role requires a deep understanding of oncology nursing practices and the ability to support patients and their families through challenging times.

Duties

• Provide comprehensive patient care to oncology patients, ensuring their physical and emotional needs are met.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, utilizing aseptic techniques to prevent infection.
• Monitor patient vitals and response to treatments, documenting all findings accurately in electronic health records.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients.
• Educate patients and families about cancer treatment options, side effects, and coping strategies.
• Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality.
• Utilize eClinicalWorks and Athenahealth systems for efficient patient management and record keeping.
• Support long-term care initiatives for patients with chronic conditions, including dementia care when necessary.
• Participate in coding activities related to patient treatment documentation.

Position Details

• Monday - Friday - 8:30 AM – 5 PM - 40 hours
• No nights, weekends, or holidays
• Converts to FTE after 3 month contract
• Full benefits plans as a contractor and after conversion (Health, Dental, Vision, 401k)
• Located in Arlington Heights, IL

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited program for professional nursing education
• Experience working with Oncology patient population preferred
• RN State license and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in IL.
• Current BLS Certification
• ONC Cert preferred

Pay: $34.00 - $38.00 per hour
